They are LOVING the weather and beautiful plants here at Pen Y Garth Lodge Park!
Bala Holiday Parks work very closely with the conservationist David Bellamy and each year since we've opened we have won the prestigious award for our on going passion for conservation and nature.
Last year Gareth introduced honey bees on Bala Caravan Park and so far they have been a huge success (even though he hasn't been sharing any of the honey as of yet!!) Well this season we have seen a huge increase in honey bees around the Pen Y Garth Park.
We contacted Pwyll Edwards a local honey bee keeper and he came up to give us advice on how to get the honey bees into nests as they were starting to nestle in some of our lodges. Honey bees in general do not tend to bother with people but of course we wanted to make sure that we were able to move them safely from any lodges into the hives that Pwyll carefully put around the park for us.
Pwyll managed to entice the honey bees to the hives and as you can see from the images and videos they have moved happily in to their new nests!
We are extremely proud of this achievement and are excited to see the Welsh Honey Bee thriving at Pen Y Garth Lodge Park!
